What is the difference between ACLS and BLS?

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) focuses on advanced cardiac care for healthcare providers, including medication administration, advanced airway management, and cardiac rhythm interpretation. BLS (Basic Life Support) is a foundational course covering basic CPR, AED use, and relief of choking for laypersons and healthcare providers.

How long is the certification valid?

The AHA ACLS certification is valid for two years. After that, individuals must complete a renewal course to maintain certification.

How soon do I receive my card after completing class?

At Code Blue Training we issue your AHA certification right at the end of class. Your card is received via email from the AHA. We also offer an option to print you a copy free of charge if requested.

Do I need any prerequisites to take the AHA ACLS course?

All students must complete the Precourse Self-Assessment and achieve a score of at least 70% before taking the ACLS Course. Students must print their scoring report and bring it with them to class.

There is no limit to the number of times the student can take the Precourse Self-Assessment and it is free.

Will I receive a certification card after completing the course?

Yes, upon successful completion of the AHA BLS course and passing the exam, you will receive an AHA BLS certification card, which is widely recognized in healthcare settings. Verify your card at this link here.
